E-NEWSLETTER - February 2022 Edition

As we close out the first two months of 2022 and prepare to resume in-person events we are looking forward to seeing you in-person this year!

Join Our Comfort Care Volunteer Family!

Are you interested in joining our hospice family by becoming a Comfort Care Volunteer?

Comfort Care Volunteers provide comfort and support to our residents and their family members. It is a wonderfully rewarding experience to help make moments matter at Huron Shores Hospice!

Here is the first step: Complete the volunteer application on our website at Volunteering | Huron Shores Hospice to begin the process. Comfort Care Volunteers are also required to complete the Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care course. Upcoming online course offerings and registration information can be found here.

Make it Monthly in March

Throughout March, when you sign up to donate monthly online, CanadaHelps will make a one-time extra $20 donation for every new monthly gift of $20 or more made to Huron Shores Hospice. This incredible community is composed of generous, compassionate and determined people like you. When you join Huron Shores Hospice's monthly giving program, you will become a Compassion Champion. As a Compassion Champion, donating monthly, you are part of our hospice family working to create a world where end-of-life receives the same beauty, care and respect as the beginning. Sign up online to donate monthly in March and we will receive an additional $20 donation from CanadaHelps.

Grief Recovery Program

If you are dealing with grief related to the loss of a family member or friend, Huron Shores Hospice offers an 8-session educational program that offers a safe environment for you to explore your beliefs about dealing with loss. The program provides actions that will lead you to complete unresolved emotions that may still be causing you pain.

Grief delayed is not grief denied. Whether you have recently experienced a loss or have suffered a loss in the past, the Grief Recovery Program can provide support to you.

Our trained and certified grief recovery specialists® will facilitate your journey with compassion, confidentiality, and dignity.

The Grief Recovery Group is not a ‘drop-in’ support group. Every session builds upon the previous one so attendance and commitment to all 8 sessions is essential.
