About the Event
Join us to learn how cultural humility can improve person-centered care. In Canada's diverse landscape, old models of cultural competence aren't enough. This workshop will show you the value of understanding your own culture and others, using self-reflection in your work.
Objectives:
1. Understand what cultural humility is and how it differs from cultural sensitivity/competence.
2. Learn how to apply a culturally humble approach across sectors of service.
3. Explore the importance of personal culture when supporting individuals.
4. Examine how cultural humility forms the basis for antiracism, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction.
